Description: Bright Futures serves Delta, Montrose, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Ouray, San Miguel, and San Juan counties. Utilize 2 main designations for achieving their mission: Family Resource Center: As a Family Resource Center, they provide individualized support services and resource navigation to strengthen families. Early Childhood Council: Bright Futures works to improve access, availability, and quality of early childhood care and education. Services that are provided per the different counties are as follows: 1. -Parents as Teachers (PAT)- In-home visitation program offered to parents of children 0-5 years old. Offered in English and Spanish. A free program where a trained parent educator builds a relationship with families and provides the parents with information and activities to enhance their child's intellectual, social-emotional motor, and language development. - San Miguel - Ouray - W Montrose Counties 2. -Pyramid Coaching Project-An evidence-based educational framework that builds the social-emotional competency of young learners and decreases challenging behaviors. -Delta -Gunnison - Hinsdale - Montrose - Ouray - San Miguel Counties 3. -Professional Development- For early childhood educators: - Montrose County 4. -Family Support Services- For families with children 0-18 years of age. Family Support Specialists collaborate with families to screen and assess their strengths and needs, and then set family-driven goals. Often provide food, housing, transportation, rental payment assistance to families in need who are registered with Bright Futures. -Delta -Montrose -Ouray -San Juan -San Miguel counties 5. -Colorado Shines- Colorado Shines rating and quality improvement system is a method used to assess, enhance, and communicate the level of quality in early education and care for all licensed providers in Colorado. - All Counties 6. -Adult English Classes- For English as a second language adults who need brushing up on their English skills. - San Miguel County 7. -Individualized Services and Support Team (ISST) -A multi-agency team that meets monthly to address the needs of children and families who have been referred as a result of child abuse, neglect, and/or challenging behaviors. - San Miguel - Ouray Counties 8. -Parenting Workshop-Wilkinson Public Library: (970)728-5613 100 W Pacific Ave Telluride, CO 81435 9. -Family Resource Center: As a Family Resource Center, Bright Futures offers wrap-around services to families with children ages 0-18 years old. Empowering families to become more resilient and self-reliant.
