Description: The wait list for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program will be open on March 1, 2015 for all one bedroom applicants. (The Section 8 wait list will be open no longer than 90 days.) This service provides low rent housing and section 8 rental assistance to low income families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities.

Eligibility: Low income families or individuals, seniors, and disabled persons who meet the following criteria: - The head of household must be at least of 18 years of age or an emancipated minor under Colorado state law - All adult members of the household must pass a criminal background check - At least one household member must meet HUD requirements for citizenship or immigration status - The family must not have been terminated within the past five years from any housing assistance program as a result of a violation of the family obligations as prescribed in their previous Section 8 Voucher or public housing lease agreement Area Served: Pueblo County

Application Process: Visit the website to complete the pre-application form to register on the wait list. Once this is submitted, the applicant will receive an email confirming its receipt. When an applicant's name comes up on the waiting list, they will be contacted via email or letter with the instructions on how to complete the housing application. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all information submitted on the pre-application remains current.
