Description: The APS Program offers protective services to AT-RISK-ADULTS. Definition: "An individual eighteen years of age or older who is susceptible to mistreatment, self-neglect, or exploitation because they are unable to perform or obtain services necessary for their health, safety, welfare or lacks sufficient understanding or capacity to make or communicate responsible decisions concerning their person or affairs." Types of Abuse: - Physical Abuse - Sexual Abuse - Caregiver Neglect - Self Neglect - Exploitation Reporting: If you are concerned about a friend, neighbor or loved one in any of the above areas mentioned it is encouraged to call the Department of Human Services intake line at (970)252-5000. Ouray County Single Entry Point is done through Montrose County Department of Human Services. The APS Program refers possible criminal activities to law enforcement and/or the district attorney for criminal investigation and possible prosecution.
