Denver Property Tax Relief Program

Provides a partial refund of property taxes paid, or the equivalent in rent, to qualifying Denver residents. Applications are accepted May 1st - April 30th each year.

Homeowners must:

• Have turned aged 65 or older during 2020, or
• Have been disabled all of 2020, or
• Have a dependent minor child who resided with them all of 2020
• Own the property that they lived in throughout 2020, within the City and County of Denver and paid 2020 property taxes in full
• Have had an income that is 60% of the Denver Median Income (AMI) or less in 2020

Renters must:

• Have turned aged 65 or older during 2020, or
• Have been disabled all of 2020
• Paid rent at the same property that they lived in throughout 2019 within the City and County of Denver
• If a renter is a single, applicant must have had an income that is 25% of the Denver Median Income (AMI) or less in 2020
• If 2 renters or lessees are applying for 1 household, their combined total income must be 30% of the Denver Median Income (AMI) or less
