VITA Site - La Plata County Fairgrounds

Open Mondays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. between February 11, 2022 - April 15, 2023. All appointments are in the morning. After completing the form, a tax preparer will review all documents. The customer will then leave and return in the afternoon to pick up their return. Returns are e-filed the next day.

If someone already made an appointment and needs to reschedule or cancel, use the confirmation email received when the appointment was made.

Provides free, onsite tax preparation for low-income individuals and families by volunteer IRS-certified tax preparers.

• Schedule C for simple, business income like Lyft/Uber, Postmates, etc.

• EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) & Child Tax Credits

• Credits: Child & Dependent Care, Energy, and Education

• Prior year tax returns

Low-income individuals and families who earn $60,000/year or less per return.
