HCBS Waivers for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Provides assistance for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Waiver types include:

• HCBS-DD (Developmental Disabilities)
  • Individuals aged 18 and older in need of services and supports 24/7 to live safely and participate in the community
• HCBS-SLS (Supported Living Services)
  • Individuals aged 18 and older who either:
    • Can live independently with limited supports
    • Need extensive supports, but are already receiving that high level of support from other sources, such as family
• HCBS-CES (Children's Extensive Supports)
  • Children aged 0 - 17 with intensive behavioral or medical needs who are at risk of institutionalization
    • Children aged 0 - 4, must have a developmental delay to qualify
    • Children aged 5 - 17, must have a developmental disability to qualify

Applicants may apply for more than one waiver but may only receive services through one waiver at a time.
