Description: The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a free nutrition program for families who qualify. WIC 's goal is to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants, and children under age 5 healthy. To do this WIC provides: - Free, healthy foods using the eWIC debit card. - Personalized nutrition counseling. - Breastfeeding information, support and breast pumps. - Information on other services such as medical and dental care, child care and housing. Families use the eWIC card which is debit-type card to purchase WIC foods at most grocery stores.

Eligibility: To participate you must live in Colorado, be income-eligible and meet one of the following criteria: - Pregnant woman - Mom breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age. - New mom who had a baby or was pregnant within the last 6 months - Baby - Child younger than 5 years. Fathers, grandparents, foster parents and other guardians can apply for WIC for children under 5 years of age. WIC does not ask or keep information about visa status or citizenship. All responses are kept confidential. Income Eligibility Guidelines If a household is receiving Medicaid, TANF, SNAP or FDPIR (Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations), they may be automatically income-eligible for WIC. If not participating in any of these four programs, the household gross income (the amount of money earned before anything is taken out for taxes or other deductions), must be at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). If income is slightly above the guidelines, contact a WIC clinic to discuss potential eligibility. Area Served: Garfield County
