Description: The Joseph Center Representative Payee Program: -Sets up direct deposit into a private account on behalf of Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Military Benefit recipients to eliminate risk of theft and ensure that monthly checks are immediately available. -The Joseph Center determines the beneficiary's current needs and keeps records of payments received and expenses such as rent, utilities and medications. -The Joseph Center also keeps the client involved as much as possible by helping them create a budget, counsel them about spending money responsibly and finding other benefits and services they may be able to qualify for. -Provides financial management of Social Security, Veteran Benefits, and private pay services to minimize fraud which includes paying household expenses in a timely manner that eliminates late notices and insures on time payments. -Budget counseling is for individuals that request guidance and assistance to better understand their own finances
