There are many things to remember as you prepare to take your baby to child care for the first time. You may feel excited, scared, sad—or a mixture of emotions. This is completely normal. Knowing that your baby will be in a safe, nurturing program when you are away will help to ease the worry and anxiety you may feel.
When you visit child care programs, ask the providers to see where your baby will sleep and whether the staff has received training on safe sleep practices. Learn more about safe sleep.
